Orbitage Sdn Bhd
Orbitage are a training provider specialising in competence-based hands-on training and assessment in communications & networking. We provide the Certified IP (Internet Protocol) stream which is a recognised Malaysian National Competence Standard under the Ministry of Human Resources/JPK. Rather than providing ‘ad hoc’ programs, we provide a structured framework for skills development where each program links in with the other programs, which like a jigsaw puzzle interconnects showing the similarities between technologies. The programs develop transferable skills in shared core/specialist skillsets that each staff member can apply across departments/job function silos
The following describes the IP (Internet Protocol) certification track for this technical training that has been developed through collaboration between a number of high profile IT and communications organizations in Malaysia. It has also been certified as a National Competency Standard (NCS) by the Malaysian Government, and we anticipate Government departments will recognize the value of this vendor independent ‘hands-on’ approach to training and certification and adopt it as a ‘strategic program’ for national development.
There are three levels of attainment in the Certified IP Track.
1. Certified IP Associate (CIPA) - fundamental
2. Certified IP Engineer (CIPE) - intermediate
3. Certified IP Professional (CIPP) - advanced [Specialization takes place at this level and is dependent on job scope]
Certified IP Associate (CIPA)
The CIPA provides individuals with competences and the underpinning knowledge to troubleshoot & plan basic IP based networks. After successful completion of the CIPA assessment (theory and practical) participants who require further knowledge and skills can proceed to the CIPE level.
The Certified IP Engineer (CIPE)
The CIPE provides individuals with competences and the underpinning knowledge to troubleshoot & plan more complex networks that include routers and switches. After successful completion of the CIPE assessment (theory and practical) participants who require further knowledge and skills can proceed to the CIPP level.
The Certified IP Professional (CIPP)
Unlike the CIPA and CIPE, the CIPP level consists of a number of different programs. An individual will need to show competence in a number of programs to be awarded a CIPP level certification. It is anticipated that individuals will chose a CIPP pathway (consisting of a number of training program modules) that is specifically related to their current or expected job role.
At the CIPP level, individuals can develop competence and underpinning knowledge in the following areas
§ Practical Networking with IPv6
§ Applied IP security
§ QoS & Traffic Engineering
§ Configuring the IP Multimedia System (IMS)
§ Implementing MPLS
§ Troubleshooting IP Services
§ Configuring DHCP & DNS
§ Implementing Metro Ethernet
