by nicholas last modified Apr 02, 2010 05:52 PM

As a concerted effort to use OpenOffice.org (OOo),  the Penang State government of Malaysia has issued the OpenOffice.org Migration Plan.

The plan shows that in 2011 OOo will be the choice of office productivity tools. To support their effort, a Joomla based website has been setup to support the users and a best practice guide is provided.

The poster on the plan says,

2009 - Establish the Migration Team, OOo training to the Migration Team.

2010 - Install OOo in stages. MS Office is removed in stages. New documents are to use OOo.

2011 - Use of OOo completely.
